The Tier 1 Exceptional Promise and Talent routes have been designed to attract exceptionally gifted individuals from outside the European Economic Area.

Visa holders will enjoy unrestricted right to work and study in the UK and the opportunity to settle after 5 or 3 years of residence. Applications are currently accepted from candidates in the fields of science, engineering, humanities, medicine, digital technology, the arts, fashion, architecture, film and television.

Exceptional Promise or Tier 1 Exceptional Talent?

In principle, the Tier 1 Exceptional Promise visa route is meant for individuals who can be considered potential leaders in their field of expertise, while the Tier 1 Exceptional Talent route is open to established leaders.

Depending on your field, the criteria used to identify which category you fall into will be different.

Each case is unique and we will advise you on the option that will suit your circumstances best.

How it works

The application is made in 2 stages. As a first step, you will need to secure endorsement from a designated organisation in your field. Once your endorsement is officially obtained, you can submit your personal and supporting documents to the Home Office.
