You can come to the UK to study at school or university level under the Tier 4 Student route.

To apply you will need to have an offer from an accredited UK university or a place on a course from an independent UK school. We may also refer you to our education partners if you require guidance on UK school placements or university admissions.

Tier 4 Student General

You will need to have an unconditional offer of a place at an accredited UK university and sufficient funds to support yourself and pay for your course.

You will also generally be required to demonstrate English language ability at level B2 or higher the exact requirement depends on your country of nationality and the type of educational programme you are planning to study.

Tier 4 Student Child

You will need to have an unconditional offer of a place at an accredited UK university and sufficient funds to support yourself and pay for your course.

You will also require consent of your parent or guardian.

Tier 4 Parent of a Student Child

If you are a parent of a child planning to study at a UK school, you may be able to accompany your child to the UK for the duration of their studies.

You will need to make a separate application for a Parent of Child visa.

Tier 4 Short-term study visa

This is a visa for individuals of any age planning to study in the UK for 6 months or less.

You will need an offer of a place on a course in the UK at an accepted educational institution, and evidence of sufficient funds to support your stay and pay for your return journey.

If you are under 18, you will need permission from your parent or guardian to study in the UK and evidence of your travel and accommodation arrangements.
